Marathon, today, August 10, expects to initiate restart procedures on the 140,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Fluid Catalytic Cracker Unit (FCCU) at its 495,000-BBL/d Galveston Bay Refinery in Texas City, Texas, after the unit was shut down on August 7 due to a unit upset. Normal operations are expected by the end of the week.
North West Redwater Partnership, on August 8, started a 55-day plant-wide maintenance turnaround at its 77,080-BBL/d Sturgeon Refinery in Alberta, Canada.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), tomorrow, August 11, expects to complete a 25-day planned turnaround of the 29,500-BBL/d Light Naphtha Unifier Unit at its 660,000-BBL/d Jamnagar Domestic Tariff Area Refinery in India.
PetroChina Guangdong Petrochemical Company Limited proceeds with test runs at its new 400,000-BBL/d Jieyang Refinery in China. The 200,000-BBL/d Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) 1 and 200,000-BBL/d CDU 2 are expected to start up by October or November. Other major units, including the 72,000-BBL/d FCCU, 60,000-BBL/d Continuous Catalytic Reformer (CCR) 1 and 60,000-BBL/d CCR 2, are expected to start commercial production by the end of the year, depending on the progress of test runs.
South Refineries Company (SRC), on August 6, shut down the 17,650-BBL/d Vacuum Distillation Unit (VDU) 1 and the asphalt unit at its 210,000-BBL/d Basra Refinery in Iraq, due to process water issues. The unplanned outage is expected to last about three weeks.
