Pemex, on May 23, was forced to shut down the 25,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Diesel Hydrotreater (U-100) unit at its 285,000-BBL/d Lazaro Cardenas (Minatitlan), Mexico, refinery, due to a fire. As a result, the 20,000-BBL/d NT Reformer (CCR) (U-500) and 25,000-BBL/d Hydrotreater (Gasoline) (U-400) units were placed offline. The extent of the damage and duration of the shutdown are unknown at this time.

KirishiNefteOrgSyntez has started a planned maintenance turnaround of the 180,000-BBL/d ABT-6 (Crude 4) and 108,000-BBL/d ABT-6 (Vacuum 2) units at its 420,000-BBL/d Kirishi Refinery in Russia. The units are expected to resume operations by early July.
Bashneft ANK OAO has started a planned maintenance turnaround of the 24,600-BBL/d ABT-5 (Crude 4), 14,800-BBL/d ABT-5 (Vacuum 4) and 14,600-BBL/d Delayed Coker 21-10/700 UZK units at its 142,000-BBL/d Novoil-Ufa Refinery in Russia. The units are expected to gradually resume operations before mid-June. In addition, planned maintenance on the 23,000-BBL/d Reformer Zheksa (KR) unit continues.
