U.S. LNG Capacity to Reach 10.2 Bcf/d by 2020
Next year will see a record number of LNG train commercial startups.

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The commercial startup of Dominion Energy Incorporated's (NYSE:D) (Richmond, Virginia) Cove Point liquefied natural gas (LNG) liquefaction facility next month in Maryland will be followed this year by Southern LNG's (Birmingham, Alabama) Elba Island project in Georgia.
Next year will be the record globally for LNG train commercialization, with startups expected for Sempra Energy's (NYSE:SRE) (San Diego, California) LNG train in Cameron, Louisiana; Freeport LNG Development LP's (Houston, Texas) train in Freeport, Texas, and Cheniere Energy Incorporated's (NYSE:LNG) (Houston) train in Corpus Christi, Texas.

U.S. LNG export capacity is expected to rise to 10.2 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) by the end of 2020 from 3.6 Bcf/d presently, but then the cliff drops off with no additional capacity expected until 2023.
