Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Vietnam's Power Project Management Board 3 (EVNPMB3) has selected the Power Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company 4 (EVNPECC4) as the engineering consultant for the technical design, construction drawing design, estimation and preparation of bidding documents for the Bac Ai pumped-storage hydropower plant project. The signed contract has an estimated total value of $4.4 billion.

The project would be located in Phuoc Hoa commune (Bac Ai district, Ninh Thuan province) and would be one of the first pumped-storage hydropower projects to be built in Vietnam. It is expected to deliver 1,200 megawatts (MW), comprising four 300-MW turbine sets, and is expected to begin operating between 2026 and 2028 as plotted on the National Electricity Development Plan 7.
