Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Construction of the $40 million general assembly factory, as well as the associated blade production base, of Guangxi Yinhe Avantis Wind Power Generation Company Limited (Yinhe Wind Power) (Guangxi, China) officially began recently in Beihai, which is in southern Chinas Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The project will further promote the development of clean energy in Guangxis Beibu Gulf Economic Zone.
The environment of Beibu Gulf, enveloped by Nanning, Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang, is rich in natural resources and is considered one of the cleanest regions in China. It has a land area that spans 42,500 square kilometers and a sea area of 129,300 square kilometers. After the swift development of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, more large-scale industry projects have settled into the region, increasing pressure on protecting the regional environment protection and preserving biological balance. The environmental high-tech industry and clean energy industry have become the most important aspects in realizing sustainable development in the region.
The wind power generation equipment project was jointly established April 29, 2007, by Guangxi Yinhe Group Company Limited (Guangxi, China), Avantis Energy and Consultancy Limited (German) and Guizhou Changzheng Electrical Company Limited (GCEC) (600112.SH) (Guizhou, China), mainly for the research and development of large wind power generation equipment. In July, GCEC acquired 70% of Yinhe Wind Power shares through procurement. The units design has been completed and is ready for industrialization. The production base is expected to have its first 2.5-megawatts (MW) direct-driven sample unit ready in 2008 and will have the capacity to produce 200 sets of 2.0 MW, 2.5 MW and 3.0 MW wind-generating units every year. The projects annual sales income is expected to be $6.5 billion upon completion.
In addition to the manufacturing of whole-set wind units, the production base will also be engaged in associated businesses in wind power industry to further promote the development of clean energy industry, as well as the sustainable development in the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone.
