Caterpillar Incorporated Begins Construction on $30 Million Manufacturing Plant in Texas
Caterpillar Incorporated (NYSE:CAT) (Peoria, Illinois) has started constructed on a hammer-manufacturing plant in Waco, Texas.

Site preparation for the 75,000-square-foot building began in March. The facility will manufacture large hammers that can be attached to machines to serve as jackhammers. Construction is currently under way, and completion of the new plant is expected by the end of this year. The new plant is expected to begin operations in the spring of 2011. The work tools produced will be used as attachments on a wide variety of Caterpillar machines.
The new plant will be located near Caterpillar's existing work tools-manufacturing plant in Waco, which includes lines of production for hydraulic excavator buckets and quick couplers.
H&M Company Incorporated (Jackson, Tennessee) was selected to provide general construction services for the new plant.
