Boardwalk Selects EPC Firm for Louisiana NGL Fractionation Project

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Boardwalk Louisiana Midstream (Baton Rouge, Louisiana), a subsidiary of Boardwalk Pipeline Partners LP (NYSE:BWP) (Houston, Texas), has awarded Optimized Process Designs LLC (Katy, Texas) the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a $500 million natural gas liquid (NGL) fractionation plant, located 15 miles west of Sulphur, Louisiana.

The fractionator will be capable of producing up to 200,000 barrels per day (BBL/d) of NGLs. Audubon Engineering (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) is providing engineering for the fractionator, which is part of the Bluegrass Pipeline LLC Project.

A request for qualification will be released for remaining equipment during the second quarter. Subcontractors will be selected as needed between the second and fourth quarters of this year. The project is scheduled to kick off construction next month and to be completed by February 2015.

Bluegrass Pipeline LLC is a joint venture between Boardwalk Pipeline Partners and Williams Companies Incorporated (NYSE:WMB) (Tulsa, Oklahoma). The Bluegrass Pipeline project will provide processing and transport of natural gas and NGLs from the Marcellus and Utica shale plays to petrochemical manufacturers and exporters along the Gulf Coast.
