Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Datang Guiguan Shandong Power Investment Company Limited's (Yantai, Shandong) Yangjun Windfarm received final approval from the Development and Reform Commission of Shandong province (SDRC) on December 23, 2011. This has fulfilled Datang Guiguan Shandong's annual objective of having the project obtain approval in 2011, China Datang Corporation announced on December 27.
The Datang Yangjun Windfarm, covering a total area of about 15.4 square kilometers in the Duoshan hills north of Yangjun Town, Laiyang City, has a total planned capacity of 37.5 megawatts (MW). The project was originally planned by Yantai Dongyuan Wind Power Group Company Limited (Yantai, Shandong). Datang Guiguan Shandong took over the development for the project in mid-2011.
As a subsidiary of Guangxi Guiguan Electric Power Company Limited (Nanning, Guangxi) (SHA: 600236), Datang Guiguan Shandong is a new player in wind power development. By overcoming difficulties such as the lack of experience in pre-stage preparation and the frequent adjustment in the wind power policy, Datang Guiguan Shandong obtained approval from Shandong Grid Company (Jinan, Shandong) regarding grid connection of the project on November 16.
After that, an expert team formed by specialists from the wind power, electrical and energy management sectors was employed to conduct evaluations on the energy evaluation report for the project. On December 13, the last two support documents required for the final approval, the safety pre-evaluation report and the energy evaluation report for the project, received approval from provincial authorities. On December 23, the project received final approval from the SDRC.
According to the approval, the project will be furnished with 25 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 1.5 MW. The windfarm is expected to begin full operation by the end of 2012. Upon completion, the project will be able to supply about 71.72 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity to the grid every year.
