China's Henan Province Aims to Increase Renewable Energy Capacity

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--China's Henan Provincial Development and Reform Commission has drafted guidelines for the development of wind energy and photovoltaic solar projects.

Henan is striving to increase the installed capacity of renewable energy to more than 50 million kilowatts by 2025, and to increase wind power and photovoltaic power generation by about 20 million kilowatts.

By overall project value, Henan ranks sixth among China's provinces in terms of renewable energy development.

Wind-related projects account for nearly $21 billion worth of activity in Henan. Among them is China National Nuclear Corporation's planned 500-megawatt Zhengyang County Pingjia Windfarm, which would utilize 200 wind turbines. Construction is planned for kickoff in mid-2022, with completion in late 2024.
