Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The National Energy Administration (NEA) recently approved the development scheme for Phase I of a 10-gigawatt (GW) wind power project, according to the Development and Reform Commission of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region.
The project will implement a capacity of 2 GW in the first phase and will be located in the Kushui and Yandu districts in the southeast of Hami City. According to the arrangements of the NEA, the project is divided into Kushui No.1-4 windfarms and the Yandun No.1-6 windfarms. Each of the 10 windfarms will have capacities of 200 megawatts each.
On August 9, 2010, the concentrated equipment tendering meeting for the first batch of wind power projects for the 10-GW Hami wind project was held in Beijing under the organization of the NEA. At this meeting, the NEA awarded the development rights for the first batch of 10 windfarms to 10 developers, including:
- Datang Renewable Power Company Limited, which is the new energy flagship of China Datang Corporation (Beijing)
- Huadian Xinjiang Company (Urumqi), a regional subsidiary of China Huadian Corporation (Beijing) in Xinjiang
- Xinjiang Tianfeng Wind Power Company Limited (Urumqi), a subsidiary of China Guodian Corporation (Beijing)
- China Power Investment Corporation Xinjiang Company (Urumqi)
- China Huaneng Group Xinjiang Company (Urumqi)
- China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corporation Xinjiang Company (Urumqi)
- Xinjiang Huaran New Energy Company Limited (Urumqi)
- China Three Gorges New Energy Corporation (Beijing), a subsidiary of China Three Gorges Corporation (Yichang)
- CECEP Wind Power Investment Company Limited (Beijing), a subsidiary of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (Beijing)
