Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Central Southern Electric Power Design Institute (CSEPDI) (Wuhan, Hubei), a subsidiary of China Power Engineering Consultancy Corporation (CPECC) (Beijing), won the survey and engineering bid for an 800-megawatt (MW) combined-cycle unit expansion at Shenzhen Datang Baochang Gas Power Company Limited's (Shenzhen, Guangdong) Baochang Gas-fired Cogeneration Power Plant on May 2, 2013. This is the first survey and engineering project received by the CSEPDI in Guangdong, as well as the first 9F-class, gas-fired project received by the CSEPDI, according to an announcement from the CPECC on May 10.
The Baochang Gas-fired Cogeneration Power Plant, located at Longhua New District in southern China's Shenzhen City, currently has two 9E-class, gas-fired units in operation. The expansion project is located within the existing plant area and is to be invested by Datang International Power Generation Company Limited (SH.601991) (Beijing), the listed flagship of China Datang Corporation (Beijing).
As the first combined heat, power and cold project in Shenzhen, the project received approval from the Development and Reform Commission of the Shenzhen Municipal Government on January 30, 2013. According to the approval, the project will be furnished with two 400-MW, 9F-class, gas-fired combined-cycle units, with associated heat supply pipeline works. The project will use the natural gas transferred by the second west-to-east gas pipeline as its main gas supply source. The project will be adopted with dry-type low nitrogen burners, with space reserved for flue gas denitration, and it will be connected to China Southern Power Grid via a 220-kilovolt (KV) transmission line. Upon completion, the project will be able to generate about 3.18 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, with an additional capacity to supply 340 tons per hour of heat in a supply radius of 6.5 kilometers.
