CRUDE OIL
U.S. Crude Oil Stocks Rise More Than 7 Million Barrels - The U.S. Energy Information Administration reports that U.S. crude oil supplies rose by 7.6 million barrels for the week ending October 9 to 465.96 million barrels, which is the largest increase since April. Crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma, oil hub rose by 1.125 million barrels.

Bottlenecked Marcellus Gas Producers Await Pipeline Completions - Bloomberg reports that natural gas producers in the Marcellus Shale are currently choking output from existing wells due to inadequate transport capacity.
POWER
Two Coal-Fired Power Plants to Shut Down This Year, a Dozen More Next Year - Industrial Info is tracking the possible closures of 14 coal-fired power plants between now and the end of 2016. Two of these plants, along with one formerly coal-fired plant, are possibly closing before the end of this year. One of this year's closures is for the 65-year-old Green River Power Station in Central City, Kentucky, which generated 249 megawatts (MW) at its peak.
