LNG
Delfin Seeks More Time to Build LNG Export Plant - U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) developer Delfin LNG has asked federal regulators to extend the amount of time it has to put the onshore part of its proposed Gulf of Mexico floating LNG export project off Louisiana into service until September 2023. In September 2017, the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) authorized Delfin to put its project into service by September 2019. Since then, FERC has granted three one-year extensions to complete the project. The last extension required Delfin to put the project in service in September 2022. POWER
Freeport LNG Pulls in Small Amount of Gas to Supply Power to Grid - Freeport LNG (Houston, Texas) said on Thursday it was pulling in small amounts of pipeline natural gas at its shuttered liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant in Texas to fuel a power plant. The company has long said it expects the plant, which shut due to a fire on June 8, to return to partial service in October. "Freeport LNG is currently drawing a small amount of gas off pipeline connections ... to fuel a gas-turbine generator at its natural gas pretreatment facility in order to generate and export about 50 (megawatts) of power to the state's electricity grid," Freeport spokesperson Heather Browne said in an email. Data provider Refinitiv said about 22 million cubic feet per day of gas has been flowing to the plant since July 19. EARNINGS REPORTS
Kinder Morgan's Profit Climbs 20% - Kinder Morgan Incorporated (NYSE:KMI) (Houston) reported a 20.3% rise in quarterly adjusted profit on Wednesday as the pipeline operator received a boost from jet fuel demand, with the company also benefiting from re-contracting some natural gas pipelines at a higher rate. The company cashed in on pent-up travel demand, which resulted in a 19% rise in jet fuel volumes transported in the second quarter. (Reuters)
