Dupont Awards E&C Contract For New Sulfuric Acid Regeneration Plant

Plans by E I Du Pont de Nemours and Company (NYSE: DD) (DuPont) (Wilmington, Delaware) to construct a new sulfuric acid regeneration plant in Delaware City, Delaware are continuing to move forward since originally reported by Industrialinfo.com in June, 2002. The new plant, which will be built on Motiva Enterprises' refinery site in Delaware City, will recycle sulfuric acid provided by the refinery and once regenerated, the sulfuric acid will be sent back to the refinery to be utilized in the production of high-octane gasoline.

Dupont will own this new plant, which will include three new 400,000 gallon storage tanks.
Enviro-Chem Systems, Incorporated (Saint Louis, Missouri) a Monsanto Company (Saint Louis, Missouri) has been awarded the contract to design, engineer, and construct the new sulfuric acid regeneration plant and construction is expected to start construction in the fourth quarter of 2003 and be operational in 2004.
