Global Alternative Fuels Expects Additional Biodiesel Capacity by November

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Privately held Global Alternative Fuels LLC (GAF) (El Paso, Texas) is expected to have additional biodiesel plant capacity online by November of this year at a plant in El Paso, Texas. Just a year shy of completing the initial construction of a 5 million-gallon-per-year plant, the facility is being expanded to enable the production of 15 million gallons per year of the renewable fuel.

The multi-feedstock plant processes virgin oils (palm, soybean, cottonseed and canola), yellow and brown greases, and animal fats into biodiesel. GAF hired SRS Engineering Corporation (Murrieta, California) to perform the estimated $10 million project.

The plant is located north of El Paso at 3500 Doniphan Drive in El Paso County, near the Texas and New Mexico border, and employs eight people. Plans involve expanding the facility by another 10 million gallons per year when feedstock prices improve.
