Godwin Manufacturing Expands in North Carolina

Godwin purchased an existing building located at 200 Champion Drive in Dunn, North Carolina and is currently installing new equipment. The company expects to be operational in the new facility in July 2004. The new facility will manufacture champion hoists, central hydraulic systems, and in the future snowplow equipment for the dump body and snowplow markets. Approximately, 175 jobs will be created. The new manufacturing facility will operate under the name “Champion Hoist and Equipment”, and become a subsidiary of Godwin.

In 1999, Godwin added a fully automated powder coating line to their existing 350,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Dunn, North Carolina. The new line was installed to lower unit-manufacturing cost and provide increased durability to products manufactured for the snow and ice removal industry.

Godwin Manufacturing Company Incorporated, founded and headquartered in Dunn, North Carolina since 1966, manufactures dump, platform, and rollback bodies, as well as hoists, hydraulics and other equipment used in the bodies of dump trucks. The company employs approximately 450 people.
