Oil Climbs on Optimism Over U.S.-China Trade Talks - Crude jumped by the most in more than three weeks amid optimism over trade talks between the U.S. and China. Futures rose 1.8% in New York on Thursday. The U.S. and China began two days of talks, with both sides signaling they may reach a partial deal that could lead to a temporary truce on tariffs. Halliburton Lays Off 650 People in Four States - Oilfield services provider Halliburton (NYSE:HAL) confirmed that it has laid off 650 people in Colorado, New Mexico, North Dakota and Wyoming. The majority of those employees were given the option to relocate to other offices where more activity is anticipated, the company reported. (Oil & Gas 360)
