Huayi Electric to Supply 33 Wind Turbines for Phase II of Fanshi Yunwuyu Windfarm

Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Huayi Wind Energy Development Company Limited (Yueqing, Zhejiang), a fully owned subsidiary of Huayi Electric Company Limited (SHA:600290) (Yueqing, Zhejiang), signed a contract for the engineering of wind power generation sets, as well as procurement, commissioning and service, for Phase II of the Fanshi Yunwuyu Windfarm in Shanxi, Huayi Electric announced on September 2, 2011.

According to the contract, Huayi Wind Energy will supply 33 sets of 1.5-megawatt (MW) wind turbines for Phase II. The total amount of the contract is $317.1 million.

This is the fifth large wind turbine order won by Huayi Wind Energy this year. Prior to this contract, the company won four major orders in the first half of this year. In May 2011, Huayi Wind Energy signed a $195 million sales contract with Huaneng Jilin Power Generation Company Limited (Changchun, Jilin) to supply 20 sets of 1.5-MW wind turbines for Huaneng Tuanjie Windfarm plants A and B. In April 2011, the company won the bid to supply 43 sets of 1.5-MW wind turbines for Pinglu Baihubao Windfarm's Phase I expansion and Phase II. In February 2011, Huayi Wind Energy won the bid to supply 66 sets of 1.5-MW wind turbines for Daxipo Weijiacun Windfarm in Inner Mongolia. In January 2011, Huayi Wind Energy signed a contract with Guohua Energy Investment Company Limited (Beijing) to supply 33 sets of 1.5-MW wind turbines for Guohua Guangrao Windfarm Phase I.

Fanshi Yunwuyu Windfarm is in Xiaotun Village in the Shanxi province. The windfarm has a total planned capacity of 200 MW, to be built in phases. Early in 2009, Huayi Electric had signed the engineering, procurement and construction contract for Phase I of the windfarm.

As one of the major wind turbine manufacturers in China, Huayi Electric's 3-MW wind turbine successfully rolled off its production line in July 2011, and is developing its 6-MW, large-scale wind turbine.
