Iberdrola Plans New Solar Power Station in Nuevo Leon, Mexico

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Iberdrola Mexico, SA de CV (Mexico City) plans to construct a solar photovoltaic (PV) power station 64 miles northwest of the municipality of Galeana in the state of Nuevo Leon. The total estimated value (TIV) of this investment is $100 million.

Iberdrola Ingenieria y Construccion Mexico, SA de CV (Mexico City), will be the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm for the project, which will consist of photovoltaic solar panels constructed on a fixed-tilt racking system. Once completed, the power station will provide about 50 megawatts (MW) and will generate about 87.6 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity annually. It will generate enough electricity for about 24,000 homes as well as commercial and industrial facilities.

This project is scheduled to break ground sometime in April-June 2016 and is slated for full operations between September and October of 2017.
