Cheniere Takes Sabine Pass LNG Train 3 Offline for Maintenance
Cheniere Energy has taken Train 3 offline for routine maintenance at its Sabine Pass liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The 4.5 million-ton-per-year (650 million-standard-cubic-foot-per-day) train is expected to resume normal operations by this weekend. Cheniere has resumed production for Train 1 at Sabine Pass. Train 1 was taken offline for planned maintenance on June 19, and resumed production over this past weekend. Cheniere and Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) have marked the commencement of their 20-year sales and purchase agreement to supply LNG to KOGAS from Sabine Pass. Cheniere will sell and make available for delivery to KOGAS approximately 3.5 million tons of LNG per year, which represents more than 10% of South Korea's total annual demand. Cheniere also reports that its Corpus Christi, Texas, LNG terminal project has progressed to 65.6% completion (Plant: 3007400).

Philadelphia Energy Solutions has restarted the 60,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) kerosene hydrotreater on the Point Breeze side of its 335,000-BBL/d Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, refining complex, after the unit was forced to shut down last week due to exchanger issues. Industrial Info is tracking $292 million in project activity at the refinery, including a $200 million mild hydrocracker unit conversion that is expected to take place in 2019 (Plant: 1515039).
