BASF Total Petrochemicals's 2.3 billion-pound-per-year ethylene unit in Port Arthur, Texas, remains offline. The unit unexpectedly shut down on June 12 due to mechanical complications.

SABIC UK Petrochemicals on June 25 restarted its 2.3 billion-pound-per-year ethylene plant in Wilton, U.K. Due to an unplanned mechanical fault at the cooling tower within the steam cracker, the plant was shut down on June 17. Meanwhile, a planned plant-wide turnaround, which was scheduled for October, has been reduced in scope to a minor event focused only on essential repairs. In addition, a 90-day major turnaround event is now planned for spring 2022.

Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Limited on June 30 restarted the 661.4 million-pound-per-year Ethylene 1, 793.7 million-pound-per-year Polyethylene 1 and 265 million-pound-per-year Polypropylene 1 units at its Port Harcourt Complex in Nigeria. The plant was shut down on June 2 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat OOO continues with a planned turnaround of the 99 million-pound-per-year low-density polyethylene (LDPE) unit, which began July 1, at its Salavat Chemical Complex in Russia. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit by July 29.
