Indiana Biodiesel Plant to be Operational by the End of April

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued the final permit for the plant's construction in December 2009, and construction began last year. The plant will produce biodiesel from various feedstocks. In addition, Bio-Alternative performs research and development, provides technology, and produces biodiesel-related equipment.

The facility will produce 15.5 million gallons annually and will have 20 employees.

When operational, Bio-Alternative will have the fifth operating biodiesel plant in Indiana. The state produces about 120 million gallons of biodiesel annually. Planning is under way for another biodiesel plant in Indiana.
