Indonesia Sets Up Joint Venture for Geothermal Project, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Indonesia's PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) is finalizing a joint venture to begin construction on a geothermal power-generation project in the Aceh province before the end of the year. PGE will partner with the Aceh Regional Development Company (PDPA), which is owned by the provincial government. The geothermal permit will be issued by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

PGE holds a 75% stake and PDPA 25% in the pilot project, which has a potential capacity of 110 megawatts (MW). It is expected to be built in two phases at an estimated $660 million.
