Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Members of Industrial Info Latinoamerica (Cordoba, Argentina), together with Randy Godet, vice president of research for Food & Beverage and Pulp & Paper, recently took a trip to Jujuy, Argentina, to visit the facilities of Ledesma SAAI, one of the largest sugar and paper producers in Argentina.

During the first day of the visit, the team had the opportunity to see the dehydration unit, which will be operational in October, and the sugar mill, where raw and refined sugar is produced. The following morning, the orange-packing plant was visited. This is the most recent business unit developed by Ledesma. A visit to the pulp & paper mill followed. The mill has the distinction of being one of four mills in the world that makes paper from sugarcane fiber. In the afternoon, the team went to the company's cane fields and also saw the cogeneration power plant.

This was a highly significant experience for the group, and has added an invaluable perspective for the team that researches these industries daily.
