Iran to Increase Refining Capacity This Year

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Iran plans to increase its refining processing capacity by 270,000 barrels per day (BBL/d) by the end of 2023.

Due to various sanctions, there has been delays in refinery projects in Iran for the last couple of years. But now, the Abadan Oil Refining Company (AORC) is on the verge of starting up a 210,000-BBL/d crude distillation unit by August as part of the Abadan Phase II upgrading project to meet Euro V specification fuel norms. Also, the South Adish Gas Condensate Refinery Company (Tehran, Iran) is scheduled to start commercial operations of its 60,000-BBL/d condensate unit by the end of this year.
