JFE Steel Resumes Blast Furnace Operations in Japan
JFE Steel Corporation completed the rebuilding of the No. 4 blast furnace at the company's West Japan Works (Kurashiki Integrated Steel Mill) on December 13.

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--JFE Steel Corporation completed the rebuilding of the No. 4 blast furnace at the company's West Japan Works (Kurashiki Integrated Steel Mill) on December 13. This project was carried out at cost of about US$456 million.
During the rebuilding, the furnace's inner volume was expanded from 5,005 cubic meters to 5,100 cubic meters. To reduce operating costs, new features also were added for more precise positioning when charging raw materials into the furnace.
