Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--A windfarm outside King City, Missouri, recently went operational with the help of Wind Capital Group (St. Louis, Missouri). The Lost Creek Windfarm consists of 100 General Electric sle wind turbines of 1.5 megawatts (MW) each.
The total capacity of the windfarm is 150 MW, when operating at full capacity. This is the first windfarm that the Wind Capital Group will own and operate in Missouri.
The Wind Capital Group awarded the turnkey services to RMT Incorporated (Madison, Wisconsin). Associated Electric Cooperative has a 20-year power-purchase agreement for the power generated from Lost Creek Wind Project. It is estimated that the renewable energy produced from the windfarm will provide electricity to approximately 50,000 homes.
