LNG
NextDecade Secures $1.8 Billion in Funding for Rio Grande LNG Project - U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) developer NextDecade Corporation (Houston, Texas) will receive up to $1.8 billion in equity commitments from TotalEnergies SE (Courbevoie, France) and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) (New York, New York) to finance a fourth liquefaction plant at its Rio Grande LNG export project in Texas, the company said on Monday in a regulatory filing. The move brings NextDecade one step closer to a positive financial decision on that 5.4 million metric-ton-per-annum facility. TotalEnergies will contribute about $300 million for a 10% stake in the Train 4 joint venture, while a GIP affiliate will invest up to $1.5 billion for a 50% interest, which will fall to 30% once certain return thresholds are met, NextDecade said. CRUDE OIL
OPEC Lifts 2026 World Oil Demand View - The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) on Tuesday raised its global oil demand forecast for next year and trimmed its estimate for growth in supply from the United States and other producers outside the wider OPEC+ group, pointing to a tighter market. World oil demand will rise by 1.38 million barrels per day (BBL/d) in 2026, OPEC said in a monthly report, up 100,000 BBL/d from the previous forecast. This year's expectation was left unchanged. EIA: U.S. Oil Production to Hit Record in 2025 Before Declining - U.S. crude oil production will hit a record 13.41 million BBL/d in 2025 due to increases in well productivity, though lower oil prices will prompt a fall in output in 2026, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) forecast on Tuesday in a monthly report. The decline in 2026 production to 13.28 million BBL/d would be the first drop in output since 2021 for the world's largest producer, the EIA data showed. (Reuters)
