Grodno Azot JSC (Grodno, Belarus) shortlisted four companies for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of its new, $1.3 billion nitrogen fertilizer complex.
Grodno Azot has accepted proposals from China National Complete Plant Import and Export Corporation Limited, CITIC Construction Company, China Machinery Industry Construction Group Incorporated and Tecnimont SpA, and intends to select an EPC contractor by the end of 2019.
The new nitrogen complex will produce 825,000 tons per year of ammonia, 1.2 million tons per year of urea and 250,000 cubic meters per hour of hydrogen. It is expected to begin operations in 2024.
