Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Northwest Power Construction Group Company (NWPCG) (Xian, Shaanxi), a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing), completed the boiler steam flushing for Unit 1 of Shaanxi Huadian Yuheng Coal & Power Company Limited's (Yulin, Shaanxi) 1,320-megawatt (MW) Yuheng Coal Power Project on August 3, 2013, according to an announcement from the CEEC on August 6. NWPCG is the project's contractor.

Unit 1 of the project was ignited by light diesel with a micro-oil gun, and the unit pipeline was flushed with the adoption of a pressure-reducing method. The boiler was first ignited on July 28. The first stage of pipeline flushing was completed on July 30. Second-stage flushing kicked off on August 1. By the morning of August 3, the pipeline had been flushed 66 times in the second stage. Upon a combined appraisal, the owner, the operator, the engineer and the supervisor concluded that the flushing had been completed soundly.

The Huadian Yuheng Coal & Power Integration Project mainly comprises the 10 million-metric-ton-per-year Xiaojihan underground coal mine and the 1,320-MW Yuheng supercritical, coal-fired, air-cooling power plant in the initial stage. The project will be connected to the grid via a 750-kilovolt, ultra-high-voltage transmission line.

The project received preliminary approval from the National Energy Administration (NEA) to kick off pre-stage preparation in September 2010. In August 2012, the Phase I project received approval from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). According to the schedule, both units of the project will begin operations within the year. Upon completion, the project will be an important power source support point in the 750-kilovolt grid of northwestern China.
