Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Investor-owned Pacific Ethanol Incorporated (NYSE:PEIX ) (Sacramento, California) now has Oregons first commercial scale fuel ethanol plant up and running and is planning a grand opening event October 5, 2007. The opening is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. (PST) at the plant site at the Port of Morrow in Boardman on 71335 Rail Loop Drive.
The plant will process more than 15 million bushels of corn annually to produce the renewable fuel, and 350,000 tons of wet distillers grains, a by-product of ethanol production, will also be generated at the site.
Cost estimates to build the plant were in the $65 million range.
