Sempra to Sell Some Mexica Assets - Utility firm Sempra Energy (NYSE:SRE) (San Diego, California) will sell some energy infrastructure assets in Mexico and a minority stake in Sempra Infrastructure to fund its five-year capex plan of $56 billion, the company said on Monday. The utility plans to sell Ecogas Mexico (Chihuahua, Mexico), which holds three utility franchises and distributes natural gas to more than 600,000 residential, commercial and industrial consumers in Mexico's Mexicali, Chihuahua and La Laguna-Durango regions. The company also plans to sell a minority stake in Sempra Infrastructure, which has liquefied natural gas assets and related pipeline and storage infrastructure. (Reuters)

U.S. Oil Production Fell to 11-Month Low in January - U.S. crude oil production fell by 305,000 barrels per day (BBL/d) to 13.15 million BBL/d in January, the lowest level since February 2024, data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed on Monday. That was the biggest decline in monthly U.S. oil output since January 2024. Oil output in Texas, the top U.S. oil producing state, fell by 105,000 BBL/d to 5.58 million BBL/d, the lowest level since March 2024. That was the largest monthly decline in the state since January 2024. (Reuters)

NATURAL GAS
Exports of Russian Pipeline Gas to Europe Down 19% Month-on-Month in March - Russian energy giant Gazprom's (Saint Petersburg) average daily natural gas supplies to Europe via the TurkStream undersea pipeline fell by 19.4% in March from a month earlier, Reuters calculations showed on Monday. Turkey is the only transit route left for Russian gas to Europe after Ukraine chose not to extend a five-year transit deal with Moscow when it expired on January 1. Calculations based on data from European gas transmission group Entsog showed that Russian gas exports via the TurkStream pipeline fell to 45.0 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d) in March from 55.8 mcm/d in February. That was also down from 46.4 mcm/d in March 2024. Total Russian gas supplies to Europe via TurkStream stood around 4.5 billion cubic metres (Bcm) in the first three months of this year, compared to 7.7 Bcm during the same period a year earlier, according to Reuters calculations.
