The plant will have the capacity to produce 50 million gallons of ethanol per year, and more than 19 million bushels of locally grown corn will be needed annually for feedstock.

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Investor-owned ethanol start-up Show Me Ethanol LLC (Richmond, Missouri) has reached the halfway point in completing construction on its grassroot fuel ethanol plant in Carrollton, Missouri. Weather in the area over the past month has been favorable, allowing for more productive construction activity. Most of the concrete and flood pads for buildings and equipment have been completed, and steel erection on most major structures is done. The next task is to tackle the maze of process and utility piping throughout the site that will make the plant operate.
The target date for completion of the more than $80 million plant is May 8, 2008.
Ethanol plant development has been steadily growing in Missouri, which ranks in the top 10 among U.S. states in corn production. Five operational plants in the state now produce more than 260 million gallons per year of fuel ethanol.
Thirteen additional plants are in the pre-construction phase in the state, and if all are built, Missouris capacity for producing ethanol will grow to more than 1 billion gallons annually by 2010.
Industrial Info's Ethanol Production Database provides a comprehensive outline of all current development activities in the emerging alternative fuels market. This database covers 123 ethanol plants in operation and 290 plants under development. It also covers 32 operational biodiesel plants and 75 biodiesel plants under development.
