Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group Limited a business unit of Stolt-Nielsen SA (NASDAQ:SNSA) (OSLO:SNI) is preparing to file permits with local and state level agencies to expand their chemical distribution terminal in Houston. Several scenarios are presently being studied, with the largest encompassing the construction of over fifty new tanks and supporting facilities, such as rail & truck loading, as well as ship unloading. The capital investment being considered could surpass $50 million depending on the scope selected. Stolt-Nielsen will utilize an E+P+C construction strategy and hopes to begin the civil work in mid-to-late 2004.
