Teck Resources Suspends Construction at Chile's Quebrada Blanca due to COVID-19 , an Industrial Info Market Brief

Teck Resources has suspended the construction works at the Quebrada Blanca 2 copper mine following the measures taken by the Chilean government to help curb COVID-19. The suspension will continue at least until April 5, and the company will continue to monitor the evolution of COVID-19 regarding new actions. Teck Resources will place the plant under care and maintenance and prepare it to be ready to restart construction once the COVID-19 crisis is over. Financial and schedule impacts have not been determined yet.
