Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--The Tianjin Electric Power Construction Company (TEPC) (Tianjin) completed the stator erection for the No. 2 combustion turbine for Tianjin Chentang Thermoelectricity Company Limited's (Tianjin) Xiaosunzhuang gas-fired cogeneration project on June 22, 2013, according to an announcement from TEPC on June 26.
As reported, the erected stator has a net weight of 202 metric tons and was erected by two bridge cranes operated in parallel. Completion of the stator erection paved a firm foundation for work in the next stage.
The Xiaosunzhuang gas-fired cogeneration project, invested by Tianjin Jinneng Investment Company Limited (Tianjin), is a relocation of the former coal-fired Chentangzhuang Thermal Power Plant to Hexi District of northern China's Tianjin City. The project is planned to have six 900-megawatt (MW), combined-cycle cogeneration units. Two of the units each comprise two M701F4 combustion turbines made by Dongfang Electric Corporation (Chengdu, Sichuan) that will be built in Phase I, with technology introduced from Mitsubishi; one heat recover steam generator; and three 300-MW steam turbine generators. North China Power Engineering Company Limited (Beijing), a regional subsidiary of China Power Engineering Consultancy Corporation (Beijing), is responsible for the design and engineering service of the project.
As the first natural gas-fired cogeneration power plant in Tianjin City, the power plant will be the largest gas-fired cogeneration project in China. Upon completion, the project will be able to supply 8.3 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity every year and provide heating service for a total area of 24 million square meters and about 240,000 families in the city. It will replace the 17 million square meters of heating area covered by the existing Chentangzhuang Thermal Power Plant, with extra capacity to develop new users in its surrounding areas.
