To learn more about the Industrial Manufacturing Industry's spending trends and how global trade relationships are affecting key sectors of the industry, join our complimentary webinar on April 4, at 9 a.m. CDT (10 a.m. EDT).

Among the largest projects planned to kick off in the quarter is Texas Instruments Incorporated's (NASDAQ:TXN) (Dallas, Texas) planned semiconductor manufacturing facility in Richardson, in the Dallas metroplex. The $3.2 billion project is planned to be completed in the first quarter of 2022. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report and the NavigatIIR newsletter article, Industrial Info Tracks $143 Billion in U.S. Capital Project Starts for Second Quarter.

Another semiconductor manufacturing project is planned to kick off in the quarter in Austin. Samsung Engineering and Construction (Seoul, South Korea) plans to expand its wafer manufacturing plant with new tooling, production equipment and structural modifications. The project has an estimated total investment value (TIV) of $291 million and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

Data centers also feature prominently in the state's planned second-quarter spending. Among the largest of these projects is Edgecore Internet Real Estate's (Denver, Colorado) planned Phase I construction of a grassroot colocation data center in Richardson. The facility will be built on a 33-acre site and will include a 180,000-square-foot data hall and 40 megawatts (MW) of utility power generation. Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers Incorporated (Dallas, Texas) is the engineer, and Dotterweich Carlson Mehner Design Incorporated (Los Angeles, California) is the architect. The project has an estimated TIV of $400 million and is expected to be completed in about a year. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

In nearby Garland, Digital Realty Trust Incorporated (San Francisco, California) plans to begin Phase I construction of an approximately $1.4 billion, 1.4 million-square-foot data center facility. The first phase will include a 280,000-square-foot data hall with 32 MW of power. Phase I construction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2020. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

While Hurricane Harvey made landfall more than a year and half ago, its effects are still being felt, necessitating a project in Corpus Christi. The Port of Christi Christi's ship channel was narrowed because of the hurricane, and a $360 million project planned to kick off this quarter will help remedy that. The port's ship channel will be widened and dredged to 54 feet deep and 530 feet wide, and additional barge shelves will be constructed to allow for two-way vessels and barge traffic. Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company LLC (Oak Brook, Illinois) is the general contractor. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2021. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

Warehouse and distribution projects also rank high in value for the state's planned projects. Among these is Costco Wholesale Corporation's (NASDAQ:COST) (Issaquah, Washington) planned grassroot distribution center in Katy. The facility will be built on a 450-acre site and will include an approximately 450,000-square-foot building. Construction is expected to kick off soon and should take about a year to complete. MG2 Design (Seattle, Washington) is the architect. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

These are just a few of the more than $384 billion in active Industrial Manufacturing projects being tracked by Industrial Info in the U.S. and Canada. To learn more about the industry's trends and spending outlook, make sure to RSVP for this week's webinar.
