Suncor, on September 18, started a 30-day planned maintenance turnaround of the 90,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Fluid Coker 8-1, 90,000-BBL/d Fluid Coker 8-3 and Heavy Gas Oils (HGO) 1 (Plant 15-1) units at its 265,000-BBL/d Mildred Lake Oil Sands Upgrader and Refinery in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

Dangote Industries Limited has further delayed the commercial startup of the lone crude unit at its 650,000-BBL/d Lekki Refinery in Nigeria, due to various problems such as a shortage of funds; the non-availability of a vendor; crude supply; workforce shortage; a delay in the delivery of equipment; and crude tank farm-to-crude unit connectivity issues. The startup is tentatively expected by November 15.

Equinor is in the process of shutting down the 61,000-BBL/d Residue Fluid Catalytic Cracker (RFCCU) Unit at its 226,000-BBL/d Mongstad Refinery in Norway. Unit maintenance and repair work is expected to be completed by mid-October.
