UAE's ADNOC Leads Country to $12 Billion Worth of Chemical Kickoffs in Next Two Years

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a major producer of chemicals in the Middle East, as it has abundant resources of natural gas, along with a rich economy. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is one of the biggest investors in the region, owning and operating a large number of chemical-manufacturing facilities in the UAE through its various subsidiaries and partners.

ADNOC recently announced billions of dollars in investment to build new facilities over the coming years, in order to produce petrochemicals, green hydrogen, green ammonia and methanol, among others. One of its affiliates, Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge), recently awarded engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts to build the Borouge 4 complex in Ruwais, which has a total investment value of more than $6 billion.

Industrial Info is tracking 20 capital projects in the UAE, worth $12 billion, that are scheduled to kick off in the next two years. ADNOC is the major investor, with $8.28 billion to be spent on 13 projects, notably Borouge 4 and the Ruwais Grassroot Blue Hydrogen Complex.
