CRUDE OIL
U.S. Crude Oil, Gasoline Inventories Fall - U.S. crude oil and gasoline inventories fell last week, buoyed by stronger demand and exports, while distillate stockpiles rose, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday. Crude oil inventories fell by 3.2 million barrels to 419 million barrels in the week ended July 18, the EIA said. Gasoline stocks fell by 1.7 million barrels last week to 231.1 million barrels. Distillate stockpiles rose by 2.9 million barrels in the week to 109.9 million barrels, according to the agency. (Reuters)
Chevron Says U.S. Mars Zinc Levels Within Limits - Zinc levels in flagship U.S. offshore crude Mars' production stream are now within expected levels after some contamination was identified in recent weeks, oil producer Chevron Corporation (Houston, Texas) said on Wednesday, citing recent testing. The startup of an offshore well increased the levels of zinc in Mars crude oil earlier this month, leading to tightening supplies in the key Gulf Coast refining hub and prompting the U.S. government to release barrels from its emergency stockpile. "We are not aware of any current compositional issues with Mars crude blend," Chevron said in an emailed statement. (Reuters)
PRODUCTION
Angola Gets 60,000-BBL/d Oil Production Bump - Angola's attempts to stabilize waning crude oil production received a boost on Wednesday when two offshore projects started up, adding a total of 60,000 barrels per day (BBL/d) to national output, the country's national oil and gas agency ANPG said. Both the offshore CLOV Phase 3 development and the BEGONIA project will separately produce 30,000 BBL/d.
