Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Williams Companies Incorporated (NYSE:WMB) (Tulsa, Oklahoma) continues its expansions of the Transcontinental (Transco) natural gas pipeline system, as the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has given the green light to a proposed expansion in New Jersey. Industrial Info is tracking $2.75 billion in Williams projects.

The Rivervale South to Market project involves uprating a section of pipeline and constructing a loop in New Jersey to transport up to 190 million cubic feet per day of natural gas from the Paramus meter and regulating station in New Jersey to the Rockland meter station in Bergen County, New York. Construction is expected to kick off early next year for completion by the 2019-20 heating season. GAI Consultants (Jackson, Michigan) is a consultant on the project. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

Also on its Transco system, Williams will supply liquefied natural gas export and production facilities in Texas through its Gulf Connector Expansion Project, which entails the construction of compressor stations and piping and valve modifications on the Transco mainline. Construction began earlier this year and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2019. Troy Construction LLC (Abilene, Texas) is general contractor on the project, which has an estimated total investment value (TIV) of $170 million. For more information, see Industrial Info's project reports on new compressor stations in Victoria County, San Patricio County and Wharton County in Texas.

In the Northeast region, Williams is preparing to begin construction on the Northeast Supply Enhancement project, which will deliver natural gas to markets in New York City via the Transco system. Construction is expected to begin next quarter for completion in late 2019. Wood plc (Houston, Texas) is performing the design engineering. The pipeline has faced headwinds from New York environmental regulatory agencies, and FERC is expected to make a final decision on whether the expansion can proceed next month. For more information, see Industrial Info's project reports on the Raritan Bay and Madison loops in New Jersey and the Quarryville Loop in Pennsylvania.

Among Williams' other projects on the Transco system is the Atlantic Sunrise pipeline project. The expansion will deliver natural gas from the Marcellus Shale to markets in the Mid-Atlantic region and southeastern U.S. Construction began in summer 2017 and is nearing completion. The line will carry approximately 1.7 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of natural gas. Welded Construction LP (Perrysburg, Ohio) is general contractor on the project, which has an estimated TIV of $3 billion. For more information, see Industrial Info's project reports on the Central Penn South portion, Central Penn North portion, and the "Grugan" Loop.

In Alabama, Williams is progressing with the Hillabee expansion project on the Transco system to carry more than 1.3 Bcf/d, and will connect with the Sabal Trail Pipeline being constructed by Spectra Energy Partners LP (NYSE:SEP) (Houston, Texas), Duke Energy Corporation (NYSE:DUK) (Charlotte, North Carolina) and NextEra Energy Incorporated (NYSE:NEE) (Juno Beach, Florida). The project is being constructed in three phases. The first phase went into service in July 2017, and the third phase is expected to be completed in 2021. The project has an overall TIV of $380 million. For more information, see Industrial Info's project reports on the Verbena Loop, Rock Springs Loop, Autauga Loop and Butler Loop.
