China Huadian, CLP Holdings to Build Wind Power Project in Northern China

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Huadian Power International Corporation Limited (Jinan, Shandong), a subsidiary of China Huadian Corporation (Beijing), and CLP Wind Power Investment Company Limited, a subsidiary of CLP Holdings Limited (Hong Kong), have formed a joint venture to construct the Huadian Laizhou wind power project, China Huadian announced on April 7, 2008. The project will be located in Hutouya Town of Laizhou City in north China's Shandong Province, occupying about 20 square kilometers. The $67.5 million project's plans call for the construction of 27 1.5-megawatt (MW) wind turbines.
Huadian Power International has been working on the joint venture since November 2007 when the Development and Reform Commission of Shandong Province approved the project. Huadian Power International will hold a 55% stake in the project, and CLP Wind Power will hold 45%.China Huadian is one of the top five nationwide power producers in China. CLP Holdings is one of the largest power investors and operators in Asia with power investments all over mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, as well as in India, Thailand and Australia. The attributable installed capacity totals more than 17,000 MW in the Asia-Pacific region.
