Advance Brands Expanding Iowa Plant; Contractor Identified

Mutually-owned meat processor, Advance Brands LLC (Orange City, Iowa), a joint venture between Advance Food Company, Incorporated (Enid, Oklahoma) and Excel Specialty Products (Marysville, California), is currently expanding its operation in Orange City, Iowa.

Currently, the building construction structural steel and insulated wall panels are being erected at the site located in Orange City, which is about 40 miles northeast of Sioux City,Iowa. The project will expand the plant by some 31,000 square feet, accommodating new equipment and a storage area for the company's line of restaurant style meat products.

The company selected Gleeson Constructors LLC (Sioux City, Iowa) as the general contractor for this estimated $18 million project and the expansion will increase the plant's production area by about 45%.

The building construction is expected to be completed within the next 60 days and the process equipment will begin arriving on-site soon and will be installed by vendors and subcontractors familiar with Advance's production layout.

Once construction is completed in early June of 2005, the company plans to hire an additional 120 employees to work in the new area.

Advance Brands is manufacturer and distributor of quality, convenient meat products supplying retail outlets across the U.S. The company has two national brands, Fast Fixin' and Fast Fixin' Restaurant Style, with more than 150 available items.
