Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Anhui Electric Power Construction No. 2 Engineering Company (AEPC2) (Hefei, Anhui), a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing), completed boiler piping flushing for Unit 1 of the State Development and Investment Corporation's (SDIC) (Beijing) 600-megawatt (MW) Panbei Coal Gangue-Fired Power Plant on April 17, 2013. This will allow for the startup of the unit in the next stage, according to an announcement from the CEEC on April 18.
As reported, the boiler piping flushing was carried out as scheduled. After 36 hours of drying the boiler at a high temperature, the pipeline was flushed for 24 hours. The boiler then underwent 12 hours of cooling down and was ignited for the second flushing, under a reduced pressure of 7 megapascals (MPa), until the target plate is qualified.
The Panbei Gangue Power Plant is located in Banpo Village, Saji Town, Panxian County, in Liupanshui City of southwest China's Guizhou province. SDIC Panjiang Power Generation Company Limited (Liupanshui, Guizhou), a joint venture of SDIC Huajing Power Holdings Company Limited (SHA:600886) (SDIC Power) (Beijing) and Guizhou Panjiang Refined Coal Company Limited (SHA:600395) (Liupanshui, Guizhou), is responsible for the development and future operations of the project.
The project, which is the first coal gangue-fired power plant from SDIC Power, is furnished in the initial stage with two 300-MW steam-generating units, together with two coal gangue-fired circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers. Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute (Guangzhou, Guangdong) is responsible for the design and engineering of the project.
Construction of the project kicked off in April 2011. The steam turbine was boxed up in December 2012. According to the schedule, Unit 1 is expected to begin operations in June 2013.
