Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--The first unit (Unit 1) of SDIC Panjiang Power Generation Company Limited's (Liupanshui, Guizhou) 600-megawatt (MW) Panbei Coal Gangue Power Plant was connected to the grid and put into operation on May 14, 2013, according to an announcement from Anhui Electric Power Construction No.1 Engineering Company (AEPC1) (Hefei, Anhui), the construction contractor and a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing), on May 15.
The Panbei Gangue Power Plant, located at Banpo Village, Saji Town, Panxian County in Liupanshui City, in southwest China's Guizhou province, is jointly invested by SDIC Huajing Power Holdings Company Limited (Beijing) (SHA: 600886), the listed flagship of State Development and Investment Corporation (SDIC) (Beijing), and Guizhou Panjiang Refined Coal Company Limited (SHA:600395) (Liupanshui, Guizhou), the listed flagship of Panjiang Coal and Electricity Group Company Limited (Liupanshui, Guizhou). As the first 300-MW, coal waste-fired power plant in the Guizhou province, the project is the kind that is highly encouraged and promoted by the state, for its comprehensive utilization of coal resources, energy conservation and emission reduction, and support of cyclical economic development.
The main turbine, generator and boiler equipment for the project was supplied by Shanghai Electric Corporation (Shanghai). Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute (Guangzhou, Guangdong) is responsible for the design and engineering of the project.
Construction of the project kicked off in April 2011. In February 2013, the drying of Boiler No. 1 was completed. Testing for the commissioning of Unit 1 then kicked off in March 2013. Presently, the project owner is working closely with related parties to complete related testing after the grid connection. It's expected that the unit will complete the online test and pass the 168-hour, full-load, continuous load test by the end of May 2013. According to the schedule, both units of the project will begin operations by the end of June 2013.
