Anchorage Municipal Light & Power Company (Anchorage, Alaska), has completed construction and start-up testing for a $25 million, 30-megawatt repowering project at the Hank Nikkels Power Plant located in Anchorage, Alaska. Construction for the project started in March 2006 after Anchorage Municipal Light & Power (MLP) received an air quality control permit to replace Unit 03s turbine at the Hank Nikkels Plant One facility. Full commercial start-up is scheduled to commence on July 30.
Power Engineers of Vancouver, Washington provided the turnkey E+P+C (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services for the project.
