Bionol Clearfield's Pennsylvania Ethanol Plant Expected to Go Online in January 2010

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Bionol Clearfield LLC (Clearfield, Pennsylvania), a subsidiary of BioEnergy International LLC (Quincy, Massachusetts), is moving ahead with construction of its Clearfield fuel-ethanol plant. The fermentors, evaporators and dryers have been installed, and currently 90% of the process piping and ancillary equipment has yet to be installed.

The $265 million project began construction in February 2008. The plant is utilizing ICM Incorporated (Colwich, Kansas) licensed process technology and is being built by Fagen Incorporated (Granite Falls, Minnesota).

The plant will produce 110 million gallons per year of fuel ethanol and require more than 42 million bushels per year of corn feedstock. The corn will be supplied by Lansing Trade Group LLC (Overland Park, Kansas), and the company has a five-year ethanol off-take agreement with Getty Petroleum & Marketing Incorporated (East Meadow, New York).

The project also received $22 million in grants and loans from the state of Pennsylvania and debt financing with international financer WestLB (Duesseldorf, Germany), as well as bond financing with Stern Brothers (St. Louis, Missouri).

BioEnergy International also plans to construct a 110 million-gallon-per-year plant in Lake Providence, Louisiana, but has put the project on hold until more favorable market conditions return to the ethanol market.
