Bolivia's Refineries Slash Capacity Amid COVID-19, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Bolivian refiner Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) has been forced to run its 21,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Guillermo Elder Bell Refinery at 55% of its normal capacity as a result of COVID-19, while its 38,500-BBL/d Gualberto Villarroel refinery continues to process at 50%.

The state-owned company will evaluate these rates as demand for petroleum products improves. Separately, the planned turnaround on the Guillermo Elder Bell facility, which was set to begin in May, has been delayed until July at the earliest.
