Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Privately held Pinnacle Pellet Incorporated (Prince George, British Columbia) is in the final startup phase of its new wood fuel pellet plant in Burns Lake, British Columbia. Production is expected to begin by the end of this month.
Pinnacle has its own facilities to manufacture the modular components that go into the construction and expansion of the company's plants. Construction on the $30 million plant began in September 2009. The facility will produce 400,000 tons of pellets annually from mountain pine beetle-killed wood. The pellets will be primarily for the European and Asian markets.
Pinnacle currently has operational pellet-manufacturing plants in Armstrong, Quensel, Strathnaver, and Williams Lake in British Columbia.
The production plant, located on Highway 16 in the town of Burns Lake, will have 20 employees.
Currently, there are six operational wood fuel pellet plants in the province of British Columbia and another six in the planning stages.
