Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--California is set for $3.92 billion in planned project completions from July through September of this year. Leading the way in terms of project value is the Industrial Manufacturing Industry, which includes the rail transit sector, with $1.6 billion in planned completions. This is followed by the Pharmaceutical-Biotech Industry with $1.04 billion in planned completions, and the Power Industry, with $960 million.

Leading the planned completions is PV2 Energy LLC's (Menlo Park, California) $650 million Panoche Valley PV Solar Power Station near Hollister, California. The project will add 247 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy to the grid. Existing on-site transmission lines will keep new transmission infrastructure minimal. The project began construction in summer 2016 and is expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
Another renewable energy project gives a boost to the Power Industry. Avangrid Renewables' (Portland, Oregon) Tule Windfarm near Boulevard in southern California is a 132-MW windfarm that began construction late last year. The project is being constructed on U.S. Bureau of Land Management land and will include 57 2.3-MW turbine-generator sets. Blattner Energy Incorporated (Avon, Minnesota) is acting as general contractor on the project. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
Commuter rail projects help launch the Industrial Manufacturing into the leading position for California third-quarter project completions. Among the projects to be completed is the Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit Line. The 38.5-mile line will include 10 stations from Santa Rosa to San Rafael, California, and is part of a 70-mile corridor that will include 14 stations. Construction of the $366 million project began in 2012 and is expected to be completed this summer. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
Also under the Industrial Manufacturing Industry, a grassroot data center in Santa Clara is adding an estimated $200 million in planned project completions. Construction on Vantage Data Centers' (Santa Clara) project began early this year and is expected to be completed in August. The 69,000-square-foot building is being constructed on a 2-acre site, with Truebeck Construction (San Francisco, California) performing general contractor services. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
One of the largest projects set for completion in the Pharmaceutical-Biotech Industry is Gilead Sciences Incorporated's (NASDAQ:GILD) (Foster City, California) grassroot sterile intravenous therapeutics plant in La Verne, California. Construction of the 400,000-square-foot building has an estimated total investment value of $250 million. Construction began in early 2015 and is expected to be completed this summer. Rudolph & Sletten Construction (Irvine, California) is acting as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm on the project. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
